Drug use doesn’t mean you’re broken. It means you’ve been trying to cope—and now, something needs to change. At Scioto Wellness Center, we offer outpatient treatment that meets you where you are. Whether you’re looking to stop completely or regain stability after a relapse, we’re here with support that’s real, respectful, and effective.
What started as a way to relax, escape, or get by might now feel like something you can’t control. You may have told yourself you’d stop. You might have even tried. But it keeps coming back.
That doesn’t make you weak. It means your system is stuck in survival mode.
Substance use disorder is treatable. No matter how long you’ve been struggling. No matter how many restarts. If your use is getting in the way of your life, it’s time to get support.
And maybe the hardest loss of all: hope.
The hope that you can feel different. Be different. Live different.
But that hope isn’t gone. It’s just been quieted.
You can stop. You can rebuild. And we can help.
We provide outpatient care for a wide range of drug use—including prescription misuse, opioids, marijuana, stimulants, and mixed substance use.
Your care might include:
You won’t be rushed, blamed, or talked down to. We move at your pace.
Scioto Wellness Center’s outpatient drug rehab program works with a full range of substance use disorders, not just one drug type or one kind of problem.
Opioids and Prescription Painkillers
Opioid use disorder is one of the most common conditions we treat. Whether the opioid is prescription (oxycodone, hydrocodone, tramadol) or illicit, our program includes MAT options such as naltrexone alongside individual therapy and relapse prevention planning. For heroin or fentanyl dependency, see our dedicated [opioid rehab program in Columbus→].
Stimulants: Methamphetamine and Cocaine
There is no FDA-approved MAT for stimulant addiction, which means behavioral therapy is the treatment. Our CBT and DBT-based model is well-suited for meth and cocaine recovery, targeting the thought patterns and emotional triggers that drive use.
Prescription Drug Misuse
Misuse of prescription stimulants (Adderall, Ritalin), sedatives, and other controlled substances often starts without any intent toward addiction. We treat the whole pattern, the substance, the underlying condition it was managing, and the habits that formed around it.
Marijuana (Cannabis) Use Disorder
Cannabis use disorder is real, particularly for heavy daily users. It’s often tangled with anxiety, depression, or disrupted sleep. We treat the person, not just the substance.
Alcohol and Drug Use Together
Many people dealing with drug use also drink heavily, or use multiple substances at once. We treat poly-substance use in one integrated plan. [ Learn more about our alcohol rehab program in Columbus→]
If your substance isn’t listed here, call us anyway. If we can’t help directly, we’ll tell you who can.
Starting treatment means one thing: showing up. We’ll meet you with respect, curiosity, and care. No scripts. No lectures.
Here’s what your plan might look like:
You don’t have to pause your life to get help. We’ll work with your schedule.
“Outpatient” means you live at home and come to treatment on a schedule, but what that actually looks like in practice matters.
Standard Outpatient (OP):
Intensive Outpatient (IOP):
For people who need more structure, especially early in recovery or after a relapse, more frequent sessions can be arranged. IOP typically means 9+ hours of structured treatment per week, while you continue living at home.
Most people start at a higher frequency and step down gradually as they build stability and momentum. A typical course of outpatient drug rehab runs 3 to 6 months, though this varies based on individual progress and substance type.
You don’t have to tell your employer you’re in treatment. Many of our clients work full schedules, raise families, and carry on their daily lives without anyone outside their immediate circle knowing. Drug rehab doesn’t have to mean disappearing, it means getting support while staying in your life.
If you’ve been searching for drug rehab in Columbus, you’ve probably seen both outpatient and inpatient (residential) options. Here’s a plain-language breakdown:
Outpatient (Scioto) | Inpatient / Residential | |
Where you live | Home | Treatment facility |
Schedule | Sessions fit around your life | Full-time, 24/7 |
Who it’s for | Stable home environment, motivated to recover | High medical risk, unsafe home, needs total immersion |
Privacy | High — most people keep treatment private | Lower — requires extended absence |
Cost | Lower — typically covered by insurance | Higher — may require longer authorization |
Work / family | Continue both | Must pause or arrange coverage |
Outpatient drug rehab is clinically appropriate for most people. If you have a stable place to live, aren’t in acute medical crisis, and have some motivation to change — outpatient is where evidence-based treatment happens for the majority of people with substance use disorders.
Inpatient is the right choice when someone needs medical detox, has an unsafe home environment, or has not responded to outpatient attempts. If that’s your situation, we’ll tell you honestly — and help you find the right level of care.
