Living with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder can feel exhausting and isolating. The intrusive thoughts, compulsions, and constant mental loops often make everyday life overwhelming. At Scioto Wellness Center in Columbus, we specialize in outpatient treatment for OCD and related disorders, offering evidence-based therapies that genuinely work, without requiring you to leave your home, job, or family in the Columbus, Hilliard, or Grove City area.
Our outpatient programs use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD, alongside Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and medication management when needed. Whether you experience classic checking and cleaning rituals or “Pure O” (primarily obsessional OCD), our experienced clinicians create a personalized plan that respects your specific subtype and life circumstances.
Maybe it’s the fear that something terrible will happen. Or the need to “fix” a thought that won’t let go. Or the time-consuming rituals that leave you drained and alone.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is more than needing things to be clean or orderly. It’s a cycle of intrusive thoughts and compulsions that can hijack your mind—and your life. At Scioto Wellness Center, we offer evidence-based treatment that helps you break that cycle and reclaim your freedom.
Exposure and Response Prevention is the most effective treatment for OCD, and it’s a cornerstone of care at Scioto Wellness Center. In our Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient programs, you’ll work directly with clinicians trained in ERP to gradually face your obsessions while learning to tolerate the anxiety without engaging in compulsions.
We treat every presentation of OCD, including Pure O, harm obsessions, scrupulosity, relationship OCD, contamination fears, and more. You’ll also learn powerful CBT tools and DBT distress tolerance skills that help you respond differently when obsessive thoughts appear. Treatment takes place in a supportive, outpatient setting so you can practice new skills in your real daily life in Columbus.
You shouldn’t have to put your entire life on hold to get effective OCD treatment. Our PHP and IOP levels of care allow you to receive intensive support during the day while sleeping at home each night. This approach has helped many local residents reduce their symptoms significantly and regain control of their time and energy.
We accept most major insurance plans, making quality OCD care more accessible than ever in central Ohio. Our growing reputation, built on strong patient outcomes and consistent Google reviews, reflects our commitment to helping people overcome OCD with compassion and clinical excellence.
You’ve probably tried to push the thoughts away, ignore the urge, or reason your way out of the spiral. But it keeps coming back—and the harder you fight it, the worse it seems to get.
OCD often shows up as:
You’re not crazy. You’re not dangerous. You’re living with OCD—and real help exists.
OCD doesn’t just happen in your mind—it affects everything:
If it feels like OCD is running the show, you’re not alone. And you don’t have to keep managing it alone.
Our OCD treatment approach is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and proven methods. We meet you with care—not fear.
Your plan may include:
You’ll never be forced or rushed—just supported, step by step.
The first step is understanding the OCD cycle. We’ll teach you how intrusive thoughts get “stuck,” and how compulsions—even the invisible ones—make them worse over time.
From there, we build a treatment plan that may include:
We don’t force exposure. We don’t throw you into fear. We build safety and resilience together.
OCD is common, treatable, and deeply misunderstood. Early intervention matters.

OCD includes intrusive thoughts and compulsions, which are repetitive behaviors meant to reduce distress. The anxiety is often specific and persistent, with a deep fear of consequence if rituals aren’t completed.
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) helps you gradually face feared thoughts or situations—without doing the rituals. Over time, this retrains the brain and reduces OCD’s control.
No. We work collaboratively to reduce rituals at a sustainable pace. It’s a gradual process, not a shock to your system.
